The antibacterial performance of nano copper oxide CuO on some bacteria can be as high as over 99.9%

January 14,2022.
Because nano copper oxide CuO is a p-type semiconductor, it has holes (CuO) +, which may interact with the environment and play an antibacterial or antibacterial effect. Studies have shown that nano CuO has good antibacterial ability against pneumonia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The antibacterial process of metal oxide nano-copper oxide CuO can be simply described as: under the excitation of light with energy greater than the band gap, the generated hole-electron pair interacts with O2 and H2O in the environment, and the generated reactive oxygen species and other free radicals interact with cells. The organic molecules in it undergo a chemical reaction to decompose cells and achieve the purpose of antibacterial.

In the plastics, fibers and other materials added with nano-copper oxide, the antibacterial properties of the materials themselves have been tested, and the antibacterial properties against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Candida albicans are above 99.9%.
SAT NANO can provide technical support for the application of nano-inorganic material nano-copper oxide CuO in catalysis and additives. For specific application consultation, please contact the sales department at admin@satnano.com.
