Potting characteristics

Silicone potting compound:
advantage:

3. No shrinkage and no toxicity.
4. The curing time can be controlled according to the needs.

Disadvantages:
Poor adhesion
Scope of application:
Suitable for potting high-end precision/sensitive electronic source devices under various extreme conditions.
Silicone potting compound is the most widely used potting product. By adding heat-conducting filler to the matrix material, silicone rubber is given corresponding thermal conductivity.


Epoxy resin potting compound
advantage:
1. Has excellent high temperature resistance
2. Simple operation, relatively stable before and after curing
3. Strong adhesion
Disadvantages: poor resistance to alternating heat and cold, easy to crack under impact.
Scope of application:
Mostly used in southern warm areas or indoor electronic products.

Polyurethane encapsulant

advantage:
1. Strong low temperature resistance
2. The viscosity is between silicone and epoxy encapsulant
3. Strong toughness

Disadvantages:
1. Poor high temperature resistance
2. It is easy to foam, generally need vacuum potting
3. Easy to change color
Scope of application:
Generally used in areas with relatively low temperatures, or electronic products with low heat.
