Chemically stable, amphoteric (partially acidic), insoluble in water, fatty acids, and weak inorganic acids; when heated, soluble in hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and concentrated sulfuric acid, reacts with strong acid or alkali metal carbonates to form titanium The acid salt reacts with sodium metal to form sodium titanate; titanium tetrachloride is formed under the action of a chlorination agent and can be reduced to titanium by hydrogen under certain conditions.
